NOMAD grew out of a real friction: foreign manufacturers with quality products, unable to enter Mexico because the NOM system has no user manual. Over 200 active standards, multiple accredited bodies, timelines that shift without notice. A maze.
We chose to be that manual — but not generically. We concentrate our experience in five sectors where the system is most technical and the cost of being wrong the highest: electronics, electrical, telecommunications, energy efficiency, and consumer labeling. From there we work any product category subject to NOM.

Each sector has its own set of standards, timelines, and accredited bodies. We work all five every week.
Electrical safety of household electronics and computing equipment. Highest volume sector: power adapters, LED TVs, monitors, chargers. Tariff codes assign the standard — our assessment determines if it actually applies.

Electricity consumption regulation issued by CONUEE. Power adapters certify under this standard in parallel with NOM-001: same product, two simultaneous processes with different bodies. Also applies to LED lamps, public lighting fixtures, standby equipment, and more.

The cross-cutting standard: almost any electronic or electrical product that already has another NOM also needs NOM-024. Compliance is purely documentary — correct labeling, Spanish instruction manual, and declared warranty. No lab testing. Real legal consequences if breached.

Any device with a radio module — WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LTE, 5G — requires CRT Homologation. CRT issues a single consolidated certificate (Type A, B, or C) that integrates all applicable technical provisions. With IFT-016-2024 and IFT-017-2023 in force since November 2025, several products need to recertify.

Electrical products outside the Electronics scope (NOM-001, NOM-019). LED modules, LED drivers, power strips, tools, and others. NOM-003-SCFI is a short standard that delegates test methods to NMX-J-521-ANCE — a distinction customs does not always handle correctly.
